Senior running back Daniel Bray of North Crowley was instrumental in his team's thrilling 57-51 victory over DeSoto. Bray rushed for over 100 yards, including a game-sealing 63-yard run. The Panthers star, who was offered by Houston in February, is showcasing why he's a key player in North Crowley’s backfield. Bray will a top prospect to keep an eye on this season and he is the type of player that would look great in a Cougars uniform.

Antayvious Ellis, a standout wide receiver from Crowley High School in the 2027 class, had an impressive game against North Shore, which boasts one of the top defenses in the 6A ranks in Texas. Ellis recorded 6 catches for 102 yards and he averaged 17 yards per reception. His combination of great hands, separation speed, a large catch radius, and his competitiveness makes him one of the most exciting young wideouts in the country. Ellis is a top talent who should be high on the Cougars recruiting board. Houston recognized his talent early, offering him in January of the this year.

Houston Area:

Cardae Mack, from Atascocita High School has been dominant early in the 2024 season. Rated as the No.19 running back nationally and the No. 37 player in Texas in the 2026 class by Rivals, Mack showed off his versatility in a 41-24 win over Katy in week two.

He not only excelled on the ground but at the quarterback position, throwing for 245 yards and 3 touchdowns while racking up over 350 total yards. Mack has made the Eagles more explosive offensively, showcasing his ability to be a playmaker at multiple positions.

With a strong 2023 season already under his belt (1,370 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns), Mack is proving to be a homegrown talent that Houston must prioritize keeping local. The Cougars offered him in April.

These rising stars are showcasing their talents and making strong cases to be high on the Houston Cougars recruiting boards.
