Young Guns: Larry McDuffey

Our Young Guns series continues today, as we inch closer to the start of the Houston Cougars 2013 pre-season camp, with a look at another true freshman that showed some early flashes in his career last season and is expected to contribute even more in the upcoming season.
In 2012 freshman receiver Larry McDuffey burst onto the scene with his blazing speed and despite missing a few games still had a good enough season to be named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team.

The freshman caught his first pass of his still young career and took it 64 yards for a touchdown against Texas State in the Cougars' season opener last season and probably had his best game against Rice in Reliant Stadium where he caught 8 passes for 100 yards and a score.
He finished the season with 28 catches for 382 yards with four touchdowns and is poised to build next to fellow freshman standout Deontay Greenberry as key pieces in the Cougars' receiving corps of the future.
He also contributed on special teams, where his speed could prove valuable in the future as well. He had three kick-offs for 63 yards.
McDuffey is also a member of the Cougars Track and Field program where he competed as a freshman in the long jump and triple jump.
