Houston Baseball dropped the first of a season-long three-game series

Houston Baseball dropped the first of a season-long three-game series against Sam Houston, 9-3 from Don Sanders Stadium on Tuesday night athletics reported.

Malachi Lott made his first appearance on the mound after starting in the outfield. The only other game where Lott has both pitched and batted was against UTSA.Braedyn Cunningham made his collegiate debut on the mound registering only one hit in 1.0 inning.

The Cougars (12-13) will face the Bearkats (16-10) three times this season for the Don Sanders Cup. The next matchup will take place Tuesday, April 11 at Schroeder Park. The finale is set for Tuesday, May 16 from Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas.
