The Houston Cougars expanded their recruiting footprint in the 2013 recruiting class and snagged Sunshine State signal caller John O'Korn, the first signee from Florida for the Cougars since the 2006 class.

"I'm going in to my freshman year with the mindset that I'm going to be the starting quarterback. If I end up as a backup and redshirt, ill do my best to learn the offense and get settled in at UH and keep preparing every day like I'm the starter."

"I have to keep getting better in every single phase of my game but one thing I need to work on is to spread the ball around and let my teammates make plays instead of trying to do too much on my own."
