Game Balls: South Florida

Following each game CougarsDen.com will recognize the standout performers by handing out our game balls. Here are the game balls from Houston's 35-23 home win over South Florida.
John O'Korn - Although the numbers may not be quite as gaudy as last week's totals against Rutgers, his 22-27 for 263 yards and three scores combined with zero turnovers was a solid performance. He still seems to be progressing as can be expected with such youth, next question is how much better can he get?

Efrem Oliphant - The junior linebacker led the Cougars defense with 13 total tackles including one tackle for a five yard loss. He and the rest of the front seven did a great job of holding the Bulls rushing attack to just 85 yards with no touchdowns.
Kenneth Farrow - Take away his momentary mental lapse late in the game with the unsportsmanlike penalty that could have been even more costly and Farrow has a very nice complete game. He rushed six times for 54 yards (8.5 ypc) and a score and caught five passes for 24 yards and another score. I was also impressed that he started his post game comments off by apologizing for his actions, classy move.
Trevon Stewart - He had 10 tackles in the game and was solid in coverage most of the night. His late interception helped close out the game for the defense and he was pretty close on a couple others. He also looked very good on special teams.
Demarcus Ayers - Although the emerging freshman didn't get him a touchdown this week, as he has each of the last two weeks, he was very solid in the kick-off return game (4 returns for 124 yards) as well as the passing game (1 receptions from Greg Ward for 30 yards).
Next up for the Cougars will be the big match-up many have been anticipating with Central Florida in Orlando on Saturday November 9 at 6:00 PM.
