"Nothing major going on, just focusing up on school more," the 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back said of life after his commitment. "I haven't really heard from any schools since my commitment."
Navarro is currently 6-2 on the year and eyeing a potential Southwest Junior College Football Conference championship and possible bowl berth.
"Were fighting for a playoff spot at the moment," Banks said. "I've missed 3 mid-season games with a strained groin. I returned again against North East Oklahoma.
Navarro will travel to Brenham on Saturday, Oct. 25 where they will take on conference rival Blinn Junior College and hope to shore up their chances for a Conference crown and possible bowl berth.
"Right now every game is a Win or go home situation," the Rivals two-star defensive back said. "With that said we're leaving everything we have on the field on both sides of the ball."
On the season, in limited action Banks has 15 tackles, including 12 solo tackles and nine passes defensed.
While the recruiting process for Banks has slowed since his commitment, he still holds an offer from Troy outside of his Houston offer and still plans to visit the Houston campus for his official visit and may play out the recruiting process and possibly take trips to other schools as well.
"I haven't visited Houston or any other schools yet," the talented defender said. "I plan to visit Houston and possibly some other schools," he added.
Since his commitment to Houston in May, Banks has continued to build a growing relationship with the Houston coaching staff.
"I feel real comfortable with coach Spav and coach Gibbs," he said of his relationship with the Houston coaches. "They talk to me like I'm there already and with a lot of respect. Every call I get from them makes me feel like I'm really important to them."
One thing Banks has talked with the coaching staff about his the opportunity for him to come in next season and potentially compete for some early playing time.
"Coach Spav said I could come right in a compete for a spot at Cornerback and potentially start alongside my high school rival William Jackson who attended Wheatley High School."
Banks will worry about the early playing time when he hits campus, right now he's just focused on school, finishing out his career at Navarro on a high note and maybe packing on a few pounds, Banks says he's slimmed down a bit to 175 but would love to be a good 185 by the time he hits campus.
