Great win by Houston tonight. The defense looked very good tonight and really seemed to step it up in the same way that they did against the bigger teams Houston has played.
A few thoughts:
Congrats to Case Keenum who surpassed 10,000 career passing yards tonight. He didn't have the normal gaudy numbers tonight because of the use of the running game tonight, but was his normal effective self and lead the team as he always does.
What a game by C.J. Cavness! 2 fumble recoveries, a couple sacks, the big hit on the punt, and just a great all around game tonight.
The defense as a whole had a great game. They knocked Bo Levi Mitchell from the game early and kept the other two QB's off balance the rest of the way. The did allow Shawnbry McNeal some yardage along the way, but he is no slouch and they still held him under 100 yards.
Charles Simms continued to progress and had a great game tonight. 15 rushes for 105 yards and two TD's. Beall has also impressed me this season. Some backs in this world would be selfish and complain about carries, but I have not heard one negative thing from him anywhere. He has repeatedly given credit to Simms and embraced the team having another weapon.
Nice to see Fendi Onobun get his first catch and some more playing time in goal line situations.
Feel free to chip in and add your thoughts from tonight's game....

Also wanted to add that it was nice to see some consistency from the kicking game as Hogan won the job this week and came in and had a good night.

Our discipline continues to impress. The team is not doing stupid things on the field, and some of the penalty calls are really marginal.

In an offense like this you have to have two reliable options at RB. Beall and Sims are a great duo.
The defense had their best game of the year. Knocking out BLM obviously had a big impact on SMU offensively though.

Our team speed on offense is sick.
Carrier absolutely pulling away on the kickoff return and Sims just blowing right through the hole. And then Edwards running by every defender that's on him.

The announcers mentioned a kicker contest that was held Tuesday -- any details on that?

Its still amazing that Edwards came here as a walk on.
