The Houston Cougars and Rice Owls square off this Saturday in what seems to be, for now at least, the last meeting between these two teams in the immediate future. Talks continue between the two Bayou City Universities to extend the long standing tradition of playing for the coveted Bayou Bucket trophy that is awarded to the victor of the annual cross-town match-up.
On Wednesday both head coaches came together for the annual Bayou Bucket Luncheon put on by the Touchdown Club of Houston each year in the week heading up to the game. Both the Owls' David Bailiff and Cougars' Tony Levine have a very well known history with each other with both coaching together at Texas State previously and then squaring off on opposite staffs for the last five seasons.
Bailiff addressed the media before the start of the luncheon and talked about the history of the game, the relationship between the two staffs and Saturday's match-up. CougarsDen was on hand and brings this video of Bailiff's remarks.
