We get back to our pre-camp coverage today with a look at another player in our Key Coogs series. The series is sponsored by Chastang Ford and focuses on key players in the program whose performance in the upcoming season will have a direct impact on the team's success.
We continue to day with number 14 on our list, outside linebacker, Austin Wilson who will enter the fall as the starter for the first time since his arrival on campus in 2010.
Wilson spent his first three seasons on campus primarily seeing action as a reserve linebacker and a special teams player. In his senior year he will look to make the jump to starter and make an impact in new defensive coordinator David Gibbs's defense.
Wilson was highly thought of coming out of Tyler (TX) Lee High School in the 2010 signing class after being names his district's MVP in his senior season.
Wilson has added 25 pounds since arriving on campus but doesn't seem to have lost any of his speed. He may have even improved in that department as well.
He will be counted on to take over a position vacated by NFL Rookie linebacker Phillip Steward who excelled at that position in his four years as the starter.
